Mordecai "Xūmat" (Pronounced: Shoo-mah-t) Jackson was born on the 23rd of October in 1994 and raised in the Detroit Metropolitan Area (DMA) by his single mother and grandmother. From a very young age, he'd known he's wanted to pursue a career in the music industry. His mother recounts that he even taught himself to whistle. Xūmat, as early as possible, joined his school's music program and began playing the saxophone, an instrument he'd loved the sound of. It wasn't long before he was playing in the jazz band, holding the first chair position in every band he'd touch until college. After graduating high school, he found himself lost, not knowing how to properly use his talents to create a lasting career for himself. He soon would pick up producing, spending hours and many nights up tilling away at projects that he hoped would become his first album. As of the beginning of 2021, that project is building into a musical portfolio; an EP that he would release in the late summer.
